With the rise in popularity of monthly subscription boxes and the influx of interest in vinyl records, Amazon has decided that now is the perfect time to debut a Record Of The Month Club, putting a contemporary spin on Colombia House-style operations and sending out monthly orders of 12” wax through its robust distribution network.
This new service sends out a new hand-picked record every four weeks, allowing you to harness the expertise of the crack team at Amazon Music to build out the ultimate record collection. Before records are shipped out, subscribers can view their next month’s order via a Subscription Management page and decided to opt out or select a different record should they be uninterested in the curator’s selection for that month. You can also skip months, or cancel at any time. Amazon is kicking off the service with what it’s calling the “Golden Era” collection, which includes albums from Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, and Led Zepplin, amongst other iconic artists and groups from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Priced at $25 per month, the Amazon Vinyl Of The Month Club is currently live and accepting new subscriptions.
