Sure, your Apple TV does a stand up job at streaming your favorite television shows, but does it let you play video games? Oh it doesn’t? Well the Amazon Fire TV does, and it’s putting both Roku and Apple TV on notice.

While we wouldn’t pin the Fire TV against the Xbox One or anything (although the controller is slightly reminiscent), it’s certainly capable of providing gaming entertainment for hours on end. The device is powered by a quad-core processor, and has been equipped with a dedicated GPU along with 2GB of memory. Fire TV has all of the streaming essentials, from Netflix and Hulu to Pandora and Prime Instant Video. The dedicated gaming controller lets you immerse yourself in your favorite games, and the voice search makes on-screen keyboards a thing of the past. Well played Amazon. [Purchase]
