Altra Torin iQ Running Shoes

When it comes to fitness tracking for runners, things are usually confined to heart rate, pace, mile time, and elevation change. Altra’s new Torin iQ Running Shoes, however, are looking to bring a new level of fitness tracking to your running.

These shoes essentially act as a virtual running coach – paying attention not just to the usual metrics – but your impact rate, landing zone, and ground contact time. The thinking behind this is that the more attention you pay to the finer points of your preformance, the more you’ll be able to make marginal gains that will end up in race-winning preformances. Altra’s new iQ shoes can do this all thanks to a series of almost undetectable razor thin sensors built right into both of the shoe’s midsoles. All of this tech from the shoe is then communicated directly to your app where you can pour over all of it on Altra’s IQ App.
