Between the rapid advancements currently being made in the EV sector and a widespread appreciation amongst motorsport enthusiasts for all things nostalgia, it’s frankly unsurprising that a growing number of electric vehicle startups have been showing off retro-inspired designs backed by contemporary EV powertrains. One of the latest and most interesting takes on this formula comes from fledgling California-based outfit, Alpha Motor Inc, drawing inspiration from 1960s coupes and roadsters to deliver what the startup has christened the “ALPHA ACE.”
Blending smooth lines and a classic silhouette with a myriad of modern aesthetic elements such as the heavily-flared wheel arches, flush door handles, and LED lighting throughout, the car rides on a modern interpretation of traditional single-piece platter wheels and features a minimalistic interior with a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, a large central display, perforated leather seats, and textured leather door panels with classic leather loops in lieu of modern interior handles. The West Coast EV firm hasn’t released official performance specs, though the team is aiming for approximately six-second 0-60mph times and a 250-mile range. Measuring 165” in length, the ALPHA also boasts a rear-wheel drive setup. For more information or to reserve your own ALPHA ACE, you can check out the company’s website linked below.
