Jordan’s First GORE-TEX Shoe Is an All-Weather Take on the Air Jordan 1

Over the past 35 years, there have been nearly too many takes on the Air Jordan 1 to keep tabs on. Through varying colorways and countless collaborations, the shoe has taken on a bevy of different looks. For the first time in its history, though, the most beloved pair of sneakers across most fronts has garnered a makeover that is truly something unexpected. Introducing the Air Jordan 1 Element GORE-TEX, the first iteration of the legendary kicks to feature the popular breathable waterproof tech.

Providing maximum support through all weather, the latest pair’s overlays are made up of waterproof nubuck leather, while its underlays and toebox are layered with GORE-TEX. Moving on with that trend, these Air Jordan 1s also feature a GORE-TEX inner bootie within their collar, providing premium dryness in even the harshest of conditions. Additionally, they boast a gusseted tongue for optimized secureness, but even more enticing is the inclusion of an OG Nike Air tag, showing that the classic silhouette has remained in its truest form despite the major performance overhaul it has undergone. All wrapped up in a ‘Particle Grey’ colorway with hints of green and red, the shoes are finished off with GORE-TEX branding beneath a 3M reflective swoosh.

This winter-ready set of Js is sure to be the topic of some conversation at your first holiday outing of this season. The Air Jordan 1 Element GORE-TEX drops on November 23 for $200, separating themselves from a standard pair of the shoe both in price and durability.
