The original Duffel Pack was one of the greatest everyday backpacks of all time. But, for San Francisco-based Aer, the greatest wasn’t good enough. So, they took it back into their workshop, revamped it, and made it even better. And now they’ve released the updated version, the Aer Duffel Pack 2.
Though the overall format remains much the same – both backpack and suitcase carry straps, a spacious main compartment, and an exterior made from water-resistant 1680D Cordura ballistic nylon – this bag also has some excellent upgrades we didn’t even know we wanted. Those upgrades include an external quick-access pocket for all your EDC items, an expandable water bottle pocket, an external keyring attachment, a more spacious 24.6-liter capacity, a stability-adding sternum strap, and a new internal organizational system with numerous pockets (like a 15.6″ laptop pouch and an isolated shoe compartment that fits up to a men’s size 13). Honestly, we didn’t think this bag could get any better, but Aer managed it somehow. The Duffel Pack 2 is on sale for $170 and comes in your choice of either black or gray.
