adidas Zissou Sneakers

This past weekend, after well over a decade of being asked by fans, adidas finally released the Zissou Sneakers from Wes Anderson’s classic The Life Aquatic.

Ever since the film first came out in 2005, fans have petitioned for a wide release of adidas’ Rom silhouette in a Zissou colorway. While the petitions never ended up being successful, adidas has at least warmed to the idea of doing more limited runs of the shoe. The occasion for this particular release (only 100 made) was Seu Jorge’s appearance at the We Love Green music festival in Paris. The Brazilian musician both made appearances in the film, and had his music prominently featured on The Life Aquatic’s soundtrack. From what we can see from the photos, these look to be an exact match of the shoes in the film. They feature a crisp leather upper, yellow laces, a gum-soled toe cap, and alternating blue stripes. No word on if these will ever make it to a wide release, but we can hope. Either way, excuse us as we go re-watch Bill Murray set out to find the shark that ate his friend and destroy it. [H/T: S+L]
