Two years ago, when adidas set out to craft the ultimate high-performance trail running shoe, they decided to turn to one of the planet’s fastest, most accomplished long-distance trail runners, British-born, Red Bull-sponsored army captain, Tom Evans. And after two years of searching and developing a product line alongside Evans, adidas’ Terrex division has just unveiled the Fastest Known Time and Fastest Own Time Footwear and Apparel collections.
Extensively field-tested in high-level competitions by Evans, the FKT collection stands as the most high-performance Terrex offering, designed specifically for racing and is comprised of the ultra-lightweight Terrex Agravic Pro TR Rain Jacket and the Terrex Speed Ultra, the former of which is made from an ultra-fine 10D Teijin Pasmo yarn and sports a triple-layer RAIN.RDY knitted laminate fabric with an integrated hydrophobic PU membrane while the latter is a completely uncompromising race-spec trail running shoe engineered for exacting maximum performance. The FOT collection includes training shirts, joggers, and other athletic apparel and is also comprised of objectively high-performance offerings, though as its name suggests, is about optimizing personal performance, unlike the FKT range which focuses on world-class performance from elite athletes. Available in early April, the adidas Terrex Fastest Known Time & Fastest Own Time Collections start from $60.
