Adidas has a knack for the adaptation and versatile use of its retro silhouettes, and the Superstar is no exception. Since its debut in 1970, the shoe has taken on a handful of different variations, catering to athletes and sports across the spectrum. Now, it’s making its first appearance on the fairway.
The Adidas Superstar Golf Shoe is yet another purposeful evolution of the classic sneaker. To honor the 50th anniversary of the silhouette, the company has outfitted its transcendental shoe with a waterproof full-grain leather upper, ultra-grippy spikes, and lugs, and a more notable sole for increased traction during swings. Fans of the original model need not worry about the shoe’s transition to the turf — it still features the silhouette’s recognizable rubber-shell toe piece, tri-stripe exterior, and iconic design terminology. There’s even a gold foil “Superstar” stamp on the sneaker’s medial plane for retro appeal. Head to the Adidas website to pick up a pair of your own for $130.
