The sneaker industry’s largest proprietors aren’t strangers to collaboration, especially when it comes to Star Wars. Over the years, there have been more Star Wars-themed footwear pieces than we can count, and thanks to Adidas’ recently-announced NMD_R1 V2 “Lando” example, it’s safe to say that we’re not out of the Kashyyyk woods, quite yet.
The Adidas NMD_R1 V2 “Lando” is the first in a series of sneakers created in collaboration with Lucasfilm, centering around iconic characters within the legendary series. As a divine homage to Calrissian’s suave persona and smooth appeal, the brand has imbued the sneaker with the “Sky Tint” hue seen in many of the character’s unique outfits. On its tongue, a portrait of the Taanab veteran can be seen alongside one of his most famous quotes, complementing the NMD_R1’s special lace jewels, printed sock liner, and rear pull-tab. Of course, wearers will still be able to partake in all of Adidas’ performance-focused characteristics, including an ultra-responsive BOOST midsole, comfortable cushioning, and grippy, urbanized outsole.
