Over the past year, adidas and LEGO have come together on a number of different collaborative footwear projects, with each release seeing one of the Three Stripes’ silhouettes transformed into a stylish, brick-inspired sneaker. This time, the two brands have looked back into the archives to recreate a true classic: the Superstar.
And here’s the thing — in addition to dropping a shoe that you can wear, adidas and LEGO have also created a set that you can build. When it comes to the former, this means that the Superstar gets treated to some stud-compatible detailing on the shell cap, the upper branding, and the tab atop the heel counter. As with past adidas x LEGO sneakers, builders will be able to customize their kicks using actual LEGO bricks. In the case of the set, you’ll find it to be a near-perfect replica of the original, reproducing the graphics, the iconic toe, as well as the trefoil logo and serrated stripes. Buildable as either a left shoe or a right shoe, it comes with a set of real laces and even ships in a shoebox for authenticity. They’ll be available July 1st for $170 and $80 respectively.
