adidas Originals Deerupt

Adidas recently announced yet another update to a classic sneaker. A kind of mash-up between their Marathon and New York silhouettes, the new Deerupt sneakers feature a look that is both familiar and radical.

As adidas tells it, these shoes were inspired as much by spider webs as they were by fishing nets and architect’s blueprints. The upper is made from a lightweight synthetic material that is held in by a netting that goes over the upper and holds tight agains the shoe’s midsole foam unit. It’s a bold look for such a simple shoe, but one we think ends up working surprisingly well. Look for these sneakers when they go up for sale in four colorways starting March 22nd.
