Combining old-school silhouettes with new tech is something that adidas has gotten really good at in the past five or so years. Whether it be their Stan Smith, or their Samba – they always manage to teach their old dogs new tricks. Take the Iniki I-5923 for instance.
Yeah, sure. The Iniki silhouette is a newer release, but you’d be a fool not to see that much of the appeal of this sneaker relies on its resemblance to the brand’s stalwart Samba. That likeness is turned up to 11 with this particular example. The black upper and boost mid paired with the white stripes and heel tab make the sneaker pop a whole lot more than its more multi-colored peers. The dark look doesn’t stop at the midsole, though. The webbed rubber gum outsole also features a blacked-out look. All things said, the sneaker is an ideal grab for those looking to benefit from contemporary tech without abandoning an old-school look.
