It is really cool to see a brand come into its own. Adidas has been killing it with their shoe line recently, competing with other giants in the space in a way one wouldn’t have expected just 10 years ago – but sometimes their silhouettes can feel derivative. By no means rips, but you can see the influence of other designs on their shoes. That isn’t the case with these new ZG Pure Boost Raw.
A super light runner with the popular sock-like upper, this shoe reads as a much more paired down (raw) version of their Primeknit runners. These shoes feature no plastic pieces on the midsole or upper, and instead keep for a simple and more organic looking canvas paired with flat laces along the top arch. To make it all complete, the minimalist sensibility makes its way to the bottom of the shoe as well, where a translucent outsole webs its way around the Adidas Boost mids. All things said this is an ideal summer shoe for the guy looking for something athletic, but not quite space-aged, to wear around town. Prices are not yet available, but the shoes will be available at Foot Locker EU on June 4th.
