Adidas AlphaBOUNCE Runner
Usually a new silhouette is enough to get sneakerheads excited, but a brand new technology? If Nike’s Flyknit taught us anything, newly engineered components can be downright revolutionary. Only time will tell what kind of effect Adidas’ new AlphaBOUNCE will have, but right now – we can at the very least talk about how damn good they look.
Maybe one of the most striking details on the shoe is the upper made from FORGEDMESH. With ribbed patterns in specific areas to allow for expansion and retraction while running, this seamless material allows for athletes to move naturally while running. This isn’t just fancy marketing talk for the sake of it, however. The shoe itself was developed while the team at Adidas was studying runners’ strides using Aramis, a motion capture technology that generates data points on foot movement during intense activity. All of the technology, like the EVA foam Bounce Midsole, works in concert with one another to provide a freedom of movement, cushioning, and an elastic feel with every foot-strike. Right now these shoes are selling quickly, but while they’re still available you can pick up a pair for around $100. [Purchase]
