Although Apple was once an industry giant for renderers, editors, and media-oriented creators, other proprietors have finally decided to impede on the tech giant’s territory. The most recent challenger is none other than the Windows-based PC manufacturer, Acer, who have announced their ConceptD PC Collection — a series of powerful new machines designed to offer digital creators another avenue for capable workstations.
The ConceptD line isn’t for the faint of heart, however — featuring a $20,000 900 desktop system that houses some of the most advanced hardware on the market today, such as dual Intel Xeon Gold 6148 CPUs, an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000, and many other components that have become synonymous with high-end professional workstations. Its companion, the 500 series, comes at a more affordable price point and houses an Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000, giving it a leg up within the competitive creative project space. Tailor-made 4K monitors come in the form of the CM7 and CP7, while a ConceptD 9-series foldable, 4K UHD display laptop offers the quintessential workstation for developers who are on the go. To round out the powerful new collection, the company’s OJO Windows Mixed Reality Headset with 4,320 x 2,160 display, a detachable and swappable design, and patented sound piping allows users to take on any VR project with ease. Sale of the collection is slated to begin in June.
