In 1896 — only a decade after the debut of what’s widely recognized as the first-ever automobile – blacksmith and early car racing enthusiast, Johann Abt founded ABT Sportsline, kicking off a 125-year tradition of world-class tuning. In a bid to honor its pioneering founder, the German tuning company has revealed that it will be producing a limited run of Johann Abt Signature Edition Audi RS6s.
The most exclusive ABT vehicle ever built, the JAS Edition builds on the already impressive RS6-R, bestowing the wagon with upgraded intercoolers, turbochargers, and an ABT engine control unit that bumps power up to 800hp and 722ft-lbs of torque, resulting in a top speed of around 205mph and 0-60mph times of 2.91 seconds. Comprised of parts developed and manufactured entirely in-house by ABT and tested at the Papenburg road circuit, this upgraded package also includes a sports anti-roll bar, a height-adjustable suspension setup, a carbon fiber-laden interior, and bespoke-made 22” forged wheels that add more than 30lbs of lightness when compared to the stock items. Adorned in a special carbon red livery, the JAS Edition also features a carbon aero kit that affords more than 330 additional pounds of downforce. In addition to the car itself, each order also comes with a small fragment of Abt’s original anvil. The ABT Audi RS6 Johann Abt Signature Edition will be limited to just 64 examples in total — all of which are already spoken for.
