8Bitdo Debuts A Wireless Mappable Fight Stick For The Nintendo Switch

No matter how far next-gen video game consoles and titles evolve, it seems like there will always be a market for nostalgia-loving retro gaming enthusiasts. 8Bitdo has built its name on this premise, by delivering modernized controllers and hardware for enjoying old-school video the way they were intended. The brand’s latest take on a vintage controller is the Arcade Stick, a wireless, Bluetooth-connected fighting game controller made for the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PC.

Powered by a 1,000mAh Lithium-ion battery that allows for up to 40 hours of wireless playtime, the Arcade Stick combines modern technology with the distinctive industrial design of video game consoles and controllers of 30-years ago. In addition to all being swappable, the buttons can be customized or have their functions changed thanks to a universal housing plate, plus they offer “Turbo Functionality” and boast a pair of dedicated macro buttons. Hidden LED lights also change the button mapping displayed on the controller depending on the system being used. And, at only 4.6lbs, the Arcade Stick is a breeze to transport or use on-the-go. The 8Bitdo Arcade Stick Controller is available now for preorder for $90, with shipping scheduled to commence in October of 2020.
