80s Villain Vinyl Covers by Rocky Davies
What do some of the biggest, nastiest villains of retro kid culture look like when they get posterized in 80s-era pastels? Ridiculous. In a great kind of way.
Illustrator Rocky Davies is paying homage to the characters he grew up with in a fantastic series of vinyl record cover prints. The cheese meter gets dialed up with 80s song lyrics and catchphrases too. There’s Freddy Krueger’s “Sweet Dreams are Made of This,” a sunglasses-wearing Predator in “Welcome to the Jungle,” and Dr. Doom telling you to “Just Deal with it.” The Joker, Skeletor, and Alien are all there, and even the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man shows his soft(est) side by telling us “I’ll Stop the World and Melt with You.” [Via]
