$500 Million Bel Air Bachelor Pad
Just when you thought the $95 million asking price on a recently featured Manhattan penthouse was out of control, some developers out here on the west coast decided to up the ante with this $500 million (asking price) bachelor pad.
So what does half a billion dollars get you in Los Angeles? The mansion spans over 100,000 square feet with a 5,000 square foot master bedroom. That’s right, a bedroom that’s over 5-times the size of our downtown dwelling. Of course someone with this much money presumably has a collection of expensive vehicles as well – and that actually works out perfectly because there’s a 30-car garage on the property. Other amenities include a 45-person IMAX theater, a “Monaco style” casino, jellyfish room, and a whole lot more. But what about a place to stay for your friends and family? No problem. The main mansion is accompanied by three smaller homes, along with four swimming pools (in case you don’t like sharing those either), and an infinity pool overlooking the LA skyline. The current record for the most expensive house ever sold goes to a 2011 London penthouse sale at $221 million. So, this would more than double that.
