The Wait Is Over As Acura Finally Reveals the Next-Gen Integra Prototype

Originally produced from 1986 through 2006, the Acura Integra quickly amassed a cult following, lauded for its tuner-friendly nature and sporty performance. And while the nameplate has remained dormant for the last decade-and-a-half, the Japanese automaker has now revealed that it will be rolling out an all-new Integra for the 2023 model year.

Currently being shown in its prototype form, the 2023 Integra will follow in the footsteps of its early-aughts predecessors, targeting the premium sport compact market. Utilizing the same engine and chassis platform as the current Honda Civic, Acura’s five-door liftback-style model will also represent the first-ever factory turbocharged Integra, with a 1.5L VTEC i4 — mated to an optional six-speed manual transmission (!) and a limited-slip differential — powering the car. The vehicle’s exterior design is unmistakably sleek and modern, while still maintaining Acura’s core design language. The new Integra also borrows other elements from existing production models and concepts, such as its frameless Diamond Pentagon grille which first appeared on the Type S concept.

Slated for a release in mid-2022, the 2023 Acura Integra — which will be produced at the marque’s Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio — will start at around $30,000. More information and specs will be revealed as we grow closer to the new Integra’s release date, such as whether Acura plans on making an up-specced Type R variant.
