Two years ago, Zero Motorcycles tapped San Francisco-based design firm and customs outfit Huge Moto with transforming one of the EV maker’s entry-level FXS models, resulting in a sleek and futuristic take on a one-off supermoto bike. And after an incredibly warm public reception, Zero has decided to debut a new production model based on its collab with Huge Moto, giving way to one of the best-looking beginner-friendly motos of all time.
Christened the FXE, this new model takes ample visual inspiration from Huge’s CAD-designed custom with its circular headlight, sharp front fender, and flowing tank and tail design. Backed by a five year, unlimited mile warranty, the FXE’s Z-Force Li-Ion intelligent integrated battery pack can receive a 95% charge in as little as 1.3 hours (or 9.2 hours using a standard charger) and affords a 100-mile city range and 60-miles of autonomy on the freeway (or 75-combined). Weighing just 298lbs at the curb, this new electric moto model puts down 46hp and 78ft-lbs of instantly accessible torque, allowing for an 85mph top speed. Utilizing Zero’s ZF7.2 system, this slick new supermoto also features the brand’s Cypher II operating system, a Poly Chain HTD Carbon belt, a TFT display, connectivity to a smartphone app, Bosch gen-9 ABS, a 41mm inverted Showa fork, and a 40mm monoshock. Available now, the 2022 Zero Motorcycles FXE starts at $11,795.
