We may be just a few months out from Toyota’s unveiling of the 2022 GR 86, but automotive customizers are already taking to the platform with gusto. And it’s not without good reason; after all, its predecessor has proven to be a huge success amongst the aftermarket crowd, serving as the perfect canvas for highly transformative body kits and mind-boggling performance upgrades.
With that being said, the new 86 promises to be even more potent in the tuning world — just take this concept from HKS, for example. Under the hood, it’s set to receive a GT2 supercharger kit that’ll give the boxer engine both more low-end grunt as well as improved midrange power. Complemented by a Flash Editor ECU programmer and a GT SPEC exhaust manifold, there’s no doubt that the output will be well beyond that of the stock 228 horses. Never one for subtlety, HKS has also modified the outside of the car, fitting it with low-slung front and rear lip spoilers, wide-profile side skirts, and even a massive GT wing atop the factory ducktail. Riding on some gold five-spoke wheels and decked out in a logo-heavy two-tone livery, it’s truly a sight to see. Check it out below.
