Upon its introduction in 1995, the Tacoma was a compact single-cab truck with just three engine options and two drivetrain configurations. However, over the years, the plucky little ‘Yota has grown to become a pillar of the mid-size pickup market, offering adventure seekers a potent mix of dependability, trail-readiness, and versatility.

With the launch of the 2022 TRD Pro and Trail Editions, Toyota has taken its most off-road-focused trims and made them more capable than ever before. In the case of the former, this means that you get a taller 1.5-inch suspension lift up front and a corresponding 0.5-inch raise at the rear, resulting in a 36.4-degree approach, 26.6-degree breakover, and 24.7-inch departure angle. What’s more, Toyota is now offering the TRD Pro with new forged control arms, 16-inch black wheels, and an exclusive ‘Electric Lime’ paint. The Trail Edition also gets its fair share of adventure-worthy updates, including 1.1-inch and 0.5-inch lifts, a standard locking rear diff, as well as a skid plate taken from the TRD Off-Road. Rounded out by some lockable bed storage, integrated insulation, and a 120V power outlet, it makes for quite the off-the-lot overlander. Click the link below for more.
