Earlier this year, Subaru unveiled the Outback Wilderness, adding a new level of outdoor capability to their iconic “sport utility wagon.” Now, the Japanese automaker has done the same for their flagship SUV with the new Forester Wilderness.
Part of the overhauled 2022 lineup of Foresters, the Wilderness edition gets several upgrades over the base model that make it ideal for adventuring. The SUV’s ground clearance has been increased to 9.2”, and a standard Front Skid Plate adds further protection. Approach and departure angles have been improved thanks to redesigned front and rear bumpers, and Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T all-terrain tires on 17-inch matte black alloy wheels are plenty beefy. Redesigned and strengthened roof rails are designed to support a rooftop tent, the cabin is upholstered in StarTex water-repellent material, and the combination of an anti-glare hood finish and front-view monitor improve visibility on the trails. You’re also getting exclusive rugged styling cues, re-tuned gearing with revised ratios for improved low-speed climbing, and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE for optimum traction on all surfaces. The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness can be reserved now, starting at $32,820.
