What a time it is to be a truck lover. Between Ford’s Ranger teaser, Toyota’s 2022 Tundra launch, and Chevy’s Silverado ZR2 unveil, it’s been quite a busy week for all you pickup people. And here’s the thing: the fun isn’t over just yet; Ram’s making an appearance at the State Fair of Texas this weekend, where it’ll be debuting a trio of exciting new 1500 trucks.
Headlining the event is undoubtedly the Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition, a model which brings some searing orange paint to the already loud-mouthed high-performance pickup. Limited to a mere 875 examples in total, each Ignition Edition comes with a Level 2 Equipment Group, copperhead orange interior accents, as well as some unique exterior graphics and a set of 18″ machine face black wheels. In other words, it makes for quite an eye-catching visual upgrade. Next up is the 1500 (RAM) RED Edition, one of many models announced as part of Stellantis’ pledge to donate $4 million to the Global Fund. Available with both V8 and EcoDiesel engines, it’s shod in some stealthy black paint and subtle red-colored co-branding. Finally, Ram will be bringing the Longhorn SouthFork. As the intended replacement for the Longhorn 10th Anniversary, it offers plenty of premium features, including a multi-function tailgate, a deployable bed step, and a fancy metal pedal kit. Finished with an exclusive Mountain Brown interior and bucket seats, it’s an ideal option for those wanting a bit more plush in their pickup.
All three trucks will go on sale in Q4 later this year. Prices start at $61,620 for the Longhorn and climb as high as $91,585 for the TRX, each with a $1,695 destination fee.
