The Macan SUV has become an essential part of Porsche’s lineup since its debut in 2014, and now the legendary German automaker has made their sporty five-door better than ever for 2022, with increased power and performance and sharper styling across the entire range.
The all-new Macan has debuted with three trim levels rather than four after losing the top-level Macan Turbo spec from last year. But you won’t miss it, as the new King of Macan Mountain — the GTS — boasts identical horsepower (434) and 0-60 (4.3 seconds) numbers as last year’s Macan Turbo while boosting the top speed to 169 mph. The GTS also gets standard sport air suspension that lowers the body by 10mm, while every new Macan receives a new optimized chassis that provides better driver feedback, along with sportier styling that includes redesigned front spoilers, rear diffusers, and side blades. Sitting a rung below the GTS in the revamped lineup is the Macan S, which uses the same 2.9L twin-turbo V6 as the GTS and puts out 375 hp, a 27 hp boost from last year that’s good for a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. Finally, the standard Macan has a newly-developed 261 hp (up 13 from 2021) 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that’s good for a six-second 0-60 sprint and a 144 mph top speed. The 2022 Porsche Macan lineup starts at $54,900.
