Nissan’s Frontier Pickup Truck Gets Its First Model Refresh In 17 Years

Nissan is finally going to be competitive in the mid-size pickup truck arena again after introducing the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier. This truck marks the first new generation of the Frontier since 2004, and it looks like it was well worth the wait.

The truck boasts loads of improvements, with the most obvious being its exterior. This is a thoroughly modern-looking pickup truck, with aggressive styling and an LED headlight-adorned muscular front end. It makes the outgoing Frontier look absolutely ancient by comparison, and that dichotomy continues on the interior. The 2022 Nissan Frontier is heavy on modern tech, with an available 9-inch touchscreen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a standard 7-inch Advanced Driver Assist Display and Zero Gravity Seats. The Frontier is powered by the same, serviceable 310-horsepower 3.8 L direct-injection V6 that was introduced in the 2020 model, which is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. And the Frontier’s towing capacity is rated to a maximum of 6,720 pounds. Available in a number of configurations, the 2022 Nissan Frontier is expected to go on sale this summer.
