Although most hypercar hopefuls fizzle out because of lofty ambitions or insufficient funding, there are the odd few that succeed in building a legitimate name for themselves. For instance, despite being founded within the last 30 years, Koenigsegg and Pagani have quickly emerged as fan favorites within the automotive world. Hoping to follow suit is UK-based Naran Automotive.
They’re calling the ultra-bespoke 4-seater “The Naran,” and unlike similar startups, this one will feature petrol power. Under the hood, it’s set to receive a 5.0L twin-turbo V8 from Racing Dynamics good for 1,048hp and 765ft-lb of torque. Mated to an all-wheel-drive system, it’s projected to sprint from 0-60mph in under 3.0s and climb to a top speed over 230mph. In order to accommodate such startling performance figures, the car sports an aero package capable of generating 1,377kg (3,036lbs) of downforce (about as much as a compact car). But that’s not all — Naran has also given its titular vehicle some motorsport-inspired double-wishbone suspension as well as some carbon-ceramic brakes. Built on the same monocoque as the BMW M8 and designed by Jowyn Wong, it makes for a promising new name to the auto industry. Coming 2022, pricing has yet to be announced.
