It’s here. After months upon months of stringing us along with teasers, sneak peeks, and interior shots, Mercedes-Benz has finally unveiled its EQS electric sedan in all of its finery. And the thing is — it’s not only as good as we’d hoped; it’s better.
At first glance, you can tell that this is a car intended for luxury, with a two-tone paint job and heavily-spoked wheels conjuring up images of Merc’s monied Maybach brand. But it doesn’t just look the part; it’s also incredibly streamlined, with a 0.20 drag coefficient (Cd) that makes it the most aerodynamic production car ever built. When it comes to the interior, you’ll find that the 56-inch Hyperscreen, MBUX infotainment unit, and Burmester 3D sound system provide everything needed for a lavish, tech-laden driving experience. Complemented by premium, eco-friendly furnishings made from recycled plastic, yarn, and sustainably-produced aluminum, it’s truly a sight to behold. As for its performance, the EQS will be available in two flavors (each offering a 478-mile range), including a single-motor RWD EQS450+ making 329hp and a dual-motor AWD EQS580 4MATIC good for 516hp. Pricing won’t be announced until this fall, but you can learn more at the link below in the meantime.
