Lincoln and Shinola may produce products in different industries, but both brands represent American luxury and craftsmanship. So it’s fitting that the two Michigan mainstays have come together to create a one-off concept SUV that celebrates the best in design and luxury that the U.S. has to offer.
The 2022 Lincoln Aviator Shinola Concept came to be after Shinola opened up its showroom to a group of Lincoln designers. Lincoln’s team found inspiration in a number of Shinola’s iconic products and got to work on how they could translate the Detroit-based brand’s designs onto a car, and they did so in a number of ways. The Aviator’s soft-white exterior was inspired by Shinola’s mother of pearl stone watch dials. The copper accents found on the grille, wheels, and elsewhere were derived from the Shinola Runwell bike seat. Rich Shinola whiskey leather features throughout the cabin, with a woven textile sewn into the seats that mimic the Shinola brand stripe. Lincoln has no plans to sell the one-off Aviator Shinola Concept, but the automaker will be showing off the SUV at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.
