KTM Unleashes A Track-Only ‘RC 8C’ Superbike Inspired By Its MotoGP Racers

In 2017, KTM entered the highest level of Grand Prix motorcycle racing with its all-new RC16 prototype. Fast forward to today and the Ready To Race brand has now revealed that it will be producing an ultra-limited-edition track-only superbike inspired by the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s MotoGP missile.

Dubbed the “RC 8C,” this two-wheeled track weapon was born out of a collaboration with Kramer Motorcycles and is based on KTM’s 890 Duke R model. As such, it features a retuned version of its 889cc LC8 parallel-twin that puts down 128hp and 74.5ft-lbs of torque. Built by hand, the RC 8C is constructed around a 25CrMo4 steel tubular frame and is equipped with a host of top-of-the-line, race-grade componentry including Dymag forged wheels shod in Pirelli SC1 racing slicks, titanium hardware, WP APEX PRO suspension front and aft, a 5” TFT AIM MXS 1.2 RACE display and data logger with integrated GPS function, Brembo Stylema Monobloc calipers, lever guards, GP-style switchgear, a dedicated racing exhaust with an Akrapovič titanium muffler, and RC16-style carbon fiber bodywork complete with aerodynamic winglets. Weighing less than 310lbs, each unit comes with an extra set of Dymag wheels, a race carpet, extra brake rotors, front and rear paddock stands, and tire warmers. Limited to 100 units in total, the 2022 KTM RC 8C will be available for preorder starting on July 22, 2021.
