Since its founding in 1995, the Erzberg Rodeo has grown to become one of the most renowned off-road motorcycle events in the world, drawing over 1,800 competitors each year to the tiny Austrian mining town of Eisenerz. As one of the race’s partners, KTM has proven to be an exceptionally dominant force in competition, securing no fewer than 16 wins over the course of 25 total starts.
If it’s any consolation to fans bummed about the event’s cancellation this year, KTM has just revealed a special edition variant of the 2022 300 EXC TPI named in its honor. As part of the designation, the base bike gets a number of race-inspired upgrades, with increased protection coming in the form of a lightweight skid plate, some radiator protectors, a set of brake disc guards, and a chain guide. And in order to keep the rider moving throughout the toughest of terrain, KTM has given the Erzbergrodeo a pair of wrap-around handguards as well as a grippier factory seat and a set of pull-straps. Finished off with some exclusive graphics and a slew of orange anodized parts, it makes for a fitting homage to the legendary hard enduro event. It’ll hit showrooms starting this June.
