The 668HP, 200+MPH CT5-V Blackwing Is The Most Powerful Cadillac Ever

Since the debut of Cadillac’s CTS-V and ATS-V in 2015, the famed American luxury brand has been conspicuously absent from the high-performance vehicle sector, with the last half-decade being entirely devoid of track-focused models from the Wreath and Crest company. Though today, that changes with GM-owned outfit’s introduction of the ultra-potent new 2022 CT4V Blackwing and CT5V Blackwing.

Starting with the CT4-V Blackwing, the subcompact model packs a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 with 472hp, 445ft-lbs of torque, a 189mph top speed, and a 3.8 second 0-60mph time. The even more high-performance CT5-V Blackwing is kicked along by a supercharged 6.2L V8 that puts down 668hp and 659ft-lbs of torque, which not only allows for 3.7-second 0-60mph runs and a top speed exceeding 200mph but also makes it the most powerful production model ever made by Cadillac. In addition to HUDs and a selection of carbon fiber trim pieces, both fully-restyled cars also get a six-speed manual TREMEC transmission as standard, oversized track-ready Brembo brakes, and the fourth generation of the marque’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Scheduled to begin deliveries this summer, the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing start at $59,990 and $84,990, respectively.
