BMW Motorrad naturally attracts some of the best and brightest minds currently working in the two-wheeled realm, and as such managing to improve on the Bavarian brand’s designs is an exceedingly tall order. Nonetheless, that’s exactly what Asen Zahariev and the rest of the team at Tossa R have managed to do with BMW’s new R 1250 R, transforming the German roadster into an aggressive cafe fighter.
Starting out back, the Bulgarian bike building outfit has treated the donor to a subframe that’s inspired by the design of the main chassis and capped off with a thin custom saddle and a bespoke tail cowl that mimics the lines of the roadster’s tank cover. Up in front there’s now a stacked pair of Shin Yo projector headlights set in a one-off bracket, and the bike’s Shift Cam Boxer twin’s been gifted a pair of K&N pod filters and a blacked-out Leo Vince can. The BMW has also received a spoked wheelset plucked from an R9T with black hubs and gold rims to match the build’s chassis, headlight bracket, and subframe, which are all done up in gold to wonderfully contrast the project’s Aurora Diamond Green metallic paint job — a modern livery taken straight from BMW’s M8 Competition coupe. Dubbed the “Hulk Edition,” this BMW R 1250 R from Tossa R is currently for sale with an asking price of approximately $30,600.
