Bentley Rolls Out A Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid Take On Its Iconic Flying Spur

Despite having built its reputation on its petrol-powered V-12-engined offerings, Bentley is currently in the process of phasing out its ICE-engined vehicles as part of its Beyond100 initiative — a transition the British marque aims to complete by 2030. And after previously pulling the cover off of a Bentayga Hybrid luxury SUV, Bentley has now revealed its next step towards a greener future with the debut of the new Flying Spur Hybrid.

Replacing the 542hp Flying Spur V-8, the new Hybrid variant makes nearly as much power as its eight-cylinder predecessor at 536hp, thanks to its 2,894cc V-6 being helped along by a pair of turbochargers and a 100kW electric motor drawing off of a Lithium-ion battery pack. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with permanent all-wheel drive, this boosted hybrid V6 configuration allows for a top speed of 177mph, 0-60mph runs in 4.1-seconds, torque output of 553ft-lbs, and a range of 435-miles — or an all-electric range of 25-miles. In addition to a tremendously plush cabin and with even greater connectivity, the Flying Spur Hybrid also features air suspension with continuous damping control and four driver-controlled setting modes.
