Toyota Celebrates 35 Years Of The Supra With A Pair Of JDM A90 Limited-Run Cars

Ever since the Supra became its own standalone model back in 1986, the platform has captivated auto enthusiasts with its robust build quality and limitless tuning potential. And with 3.5 decades now having come and gone, Toyota felt that the occasion should be celebrated with a pair of limited-run JDM variants.

They come in the form of the SZ-R and RZ 35th Anniversary Editions, with the former being based around a turbocharged 2.0L inline-four and the latter a more powerful, turbocharged 3.0L inline-six. In each case, output remains the same (255hp and 382hp, respectively), though Toyota has treated both cars to a slew of special aesthetic touches. For instance, the SZ-R can be had in the buyer’s choice of color, including ‘Lightning Yellow,’ along with red brake calipers and matte black side mirrors. Done up with Alcantra upholstery and alloy sport pedals, it’s quite the looker. The RZ, on the other hand, comes in just one paint option — ‘Matt Storm Gray Metallic’ — with a red leather interior and wireless charging. Riding on 19″ matte black forged aluminum wheels and sporting some commemorative carbon trim, they’ll be capped at 35 models apiece. Toyota will be raffling off buying opportunities in Japan on September 7th.
