As one of the only dedicated off-road adventure bus manufacturers in the world, Torsus is well-steeped in making wild rides that would be as at home in the apocalypse as they are on the trail. From emergency ambulances to mobile command stations, their Praetorian bus has seen it all — but nothing quite like this school bus.
Based on a MAN bus chassis and powered by a 6.9-liter six-cylinder diesel, the Praetorian puts out 240 horsepower and 682lb-ft of torque — more than enough grunt to get it up and over the steepest of grades. And with locking differentials, 16 inches of ground clearance, and some durable Michelin off-road tires, it can handle the most inhospitable terrain you dare to drive. As part of its school bus makeover, the Praetorian gains a fleet of auxilary lights, an extendable stop sign, and a destination sign. Done up in classic yellow, it cuts quite a sight. Inside, the Praetorian features room for 35 with a covering on the seats to protect them against long term wear. Although Torsus has yet to release information on pricing or availability, this proves quite the testament to the versatility of the Praetorian platform.
