The automotive industry is rightfully fond of Porsche’s annual updates, and for 2021, the brand has decided to put a little more “punch” into their second-generation Panamera line. This means the untimely demise of the original Panamera Turbo, and the birth of three new platforms — the successive Panamera Turbo S and Sport Turismo, and their smaller, more sustainable counterpart, the 4S E-Hybrid.
To celebrate their admittance into the 2021 program, the three have taken on a subtle aesthetic upgrade alongside some much-needed powertrain enhancements. For starters, the Turbo S will utilize a powerful, 628-horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, resulting in a blistering 0-62 mile-per-hour benchmark of just 3.1 seconds. The Sport Turismo has received the same treatment, updating its progenitive engine to a more powerful, 473-horsepower twin-turbo. Last, but not least, the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid takes on a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 and a separate electric motor capable of a combined 552-horsepower (once passed through the car’s eight-speed PDK transmission). Throughout, minor aesthetic changes make their debut, including a now-standard SportDesign Package, LED light strips, and reshaped front bumper. Head to Porsche’s website to learn more.
