Volvo’s electric-minded luxury offshoot Polestar is bidding farewell to their flagship grand tourer, the Polestar 1. But before it goes off into that good night, Polestar is giving buyers one last chance to grab the impressive hybrid.
The Polestar 1 is a 2+2 coupe that boasts impressive power numbers and even more impressive tech. A plug-in hybrid, the Polestar 1 has two electric motors powering the rear wheels combined with a supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine up front. Together, the total powerplant makes 619 horsepower and an insane 737 lb-ft of torque. When you’re looking for efficiency over power, the Polestar 1 can travel 60 miles on a single charge in pure-electric mode — the longest range of any hybrid. And since this is a luxury car in addition to a gas-saver and performance beast, the car is full of high-end materials and details. Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer is found throughout the body, the panoramic glass roof seamlessly blends with the front and rear windshields, and even the gear shifter is made of solid crystal crafted by Swedish glass artisans. The final run of the Polestar 1 is available now, from $155,000.
