The Nissan GT-R is like a ’70s superband that just can’t seem to quit. For even though it’s now in its 14th year of production, the old-timer is still trying to stay relevant amongst a growing crowd of young guns. Nevertheless, a GT-R is a GT-R, so we’re excited to see that a new model is coming to American shores.
It’s called the ‘T-Spec,’ and it borrows some of the best elements from across the GT-R lineup. For instance, Nissan is offering the car in two exclusive hues — Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade — as a nod to the paints originally used on the R34 V-Spec and R34 V-Spec II Nür. But the excitement doesn’t end with the color choices; the T-Spec GT-R also gains the wider front fenders and spoiler of the Track Edition, the carbon-ceramic brakes of the NISMO, as well as a set of gold-painted Rays forged alloy wheels. And, while the 565hp twin-turbo VR38DETT 3.8L V6 engine goes untouched, you do at least get an eye-catching Mori Green interior. Going on sale this winter, you’ll be able to buy the T-Spec starting at $138,490.
