As it sits, the stock MINI Countryman is something of an aspirational off-roader. Sure, it’s the biggest MINI of the bunch, but it packs few provisions to get it through the real rough stuff. Here to change that is X-Raid, a longstanding MINI partner who just so happens to have taken the Countryman to overall victory at the 2020 Dakar Rally.
Dubbed the MINI Countryman Powered by X-Raid, the most obvious difference from the stock car is the towering new ride height. It’s been raised by 40 millimeters (1.6 inches), enabling both greater approach angles and deeper fording depths. What’s more, it rides on a new set of larger wheels developed specifically for rallying. Designed to provide increased protection against flats, they also feature a rim ring that enables them to be run even if damaged over rocky ground. Rounding out the build is a set of X-Raid trim items, including additional LED headlights, a lightweight aluminum roof rack, and some exclusive orange accent decals. Pricing has yet to be announced, but you can contact X-Raid for more information.
