Every year, Mercedes-AMG enamors us with an update to its already-capable automotive lineup. Following a significant refresh for 2020, the manufacturer’s lauded GT Coupe (and Roadster) will once again garner new, performance-focused additions for 2021 — and this time, they’re substantial.
Boasting a 54-horsepower increase over last year’s models, both the AMG GT Coupe and Roadster make full use of their newly-acquired, 523HP twin-turbo V8. This allows the vehicles to catapult from 0-60 miles-per-hour almost 0.2-seconds faster than their predecessors, resulting in a jarring 3.7-second benchmark. To compensate for the added power, Mercedes-AMG has opted to include a new AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension system, adaptive damping adjustment, and a high-performance composite braking system to bring things to an abrupt halt. Accompanying these upgrades is the “Stealth Edition,” which utilizes AMG’s specter-like Exterior Night Package, dark chrome grille, and carbon-fiber accents to give each vehicle its own shadowy presence. Pricing has yet to be announced, but you can head to Mercedes-AMG’s website for more information on the upcoming platforms.
