Mercedes-AMG’s $325K GT Black Series Is A 200MPH Street-Legal Rocket

After previously pulling the cover off of its sixth iteration of its GT Black Series model back in July, Mercedes-AMG has now revealed official specs, amenities, and pricing for the final limited-edition production car.

Built by hand in Affalterbach, the 2021 AMG GT Black Series borrows a plethora of features derived from the German marque’s GT3 and GT4 factory race cars. Under the hood is a completely redesigned flat-plane crank Biturbo 4.0L V8 mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission that’s good for 730hp and 590ft-lbs of torque, allowing for 3.2-second 0-60mph times and a top speed exceeding 200mph. Cloaked in a Black Series-specific AMG magma beam livery, the exterior sports a GT4 grille, carbon hood, and a full carbon aero kit including an active rear aerofoil, while the interior features carbon race bucket seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel adorned in DINAMICA microfibre. Other highlights include a stainless steel AMG Performance exhaust system, an adjustable carbon-fiber front-axle torsion bar, and a track-ready suspension setup with adjustable three-stage AMG RIDE CONTROL damping and active AMG coil-overs. In a bid to demonstrate the car’s performance prowess, the ’21 GT Black Series was unleashed upon the Nurburgring where it set a production car lap record, completing the 12.8-mile circuit in just 6:43.616. Slated to hit US dealerships in Q1 of next year, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is priced at $325,000.
