Land Rover’s Defender Works V8 Trophy Includes An Off-Road Experience

Land Rover fans know the prestige of the Camel Trophy, the now-defunct off-road competition that ran for two decades beginning in 1980. Now, Land Rover Classic is honoring the spirit of the Camel Trophy with an extremely-limited edition Defender Works V8 Trophy that includes a special competition at Land Rover’s UK testing grounds.

The Defender Works V8 Trophy is based on Land Rover Classic’s re-engineered 2012-2016 Defender Works V8, with a 5.0 V8 that’s good for 399 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Painted in distinct Eastnor Yellow, these adventure-ready Defenders include a front winch, multi-point expedition cage, raised air intake, and other off-road goodies. The add-ons aren’t just for show, either, as every buyer of one of these Defenders gets the exclusive opportunity to compete in the first-ever Land Rover Trophy event later this year. This three-day competition at England’s Eastnor Castle — a longtime testing ground of Land Rover — will see buyers drive their new Defenders for the first time as they navigate a series of challenges inspired by the Camel Trophy and other previous Land Rover competitions. The Land Rover Defender Works V8 Trophy is available for purchase now, with prices starting around $270,000.
