Back in 1948, the first-ever production Land Rover made its debut and instantly created a new segment of adventure vehicles that remains unmatched today. Fast forward 73 years and the “Hue 166” Land Rover has been reborn thanks to the vintage Defender experts at Himalaya 4×4.

The Himalaya 4×4 Hue 166 Vintage Defender combines literally the most vintage Land Rover styling possible with the pinnacle of modern performance and luxury. The build features the exact same “Grasmere Green” paint scheme that appeared on the original Hue 166, along with heavily vintage-inspired styling cues. But beneath its retro skin, this truck is all modern. Under the hood lives a supercharged LT4 V8 engine from a Corvette that’s good for 650 HP and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Keeping that power in check are a new four-link coilover suspension system, Dynatrac axles, and Brembo disc brakes. The interior is decidedly luxurious, with a premium touch screen audio system, high-grade leather, and custom seats and dashboard. The brand’s most refined build yet, the hand-built Hue 166 Vintage Defender is available from Himalaya for $300,000.

Purchase: $300,000
