Looking to establish dominance in the increasingly popular high-performance pickup segment, Ram released its mighty 1500 TRX in August of 2020. Unsatisfied with the already thoroughly impressive 1500 TRX and its more than 700hp, Texan auto-tuning outfit, Hennessey Performance Engineering heavily upgraded the Ram, transforming it into what HPE dubbed the MAMMOTH 1000 Supercharged.
Fast-forward to today and the Sealy-based shop has now pulled the cover off of an SUV variant of the supercharged TRX platform appropriately christened the “Ram TRX SUV.” Like HPE’s MAMMOTH pickup, the TRX SUV receives an upgraded 2.65L supercharger, pulley system, a high-flow exhaust, and new HPE calibration that results in 1,012hp and 969ft-lbs of torque, translating to a 0-60mph time of 3.2 seconds. Front and middle captain’s chairs and a folding third-row bench seat provide seating for seven adults, too. This rugged yet luxurious SUV variant gets Hennessey’s Mammoth Off-Road package, including a 2.5” lift, custom bumpers with integrated LED lighting, a front suspension leveling kit, and 20” Hennessey 10-spoke wheels shod in 35” off-road tires. Limited to only 20 units worldwide, the 2021 Hennessey Ram 1500 TRX SUV starts from $375,000.
