Each year, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers off-road club hosts a nine-day event in the heart of the Moab backcountry known as the Jeep Safari. Equal parts trail riding excursion and outdoor adventure expo, it routinely sees some of the most hotly-anticipated concepts in physical form. Just take what Jeep is bringing in 2021, for example.
The lineup includes three all-new Wrangler-based builds and a Gladiator, as well as three previously-seen at various points over the course of the last year. Anchoring the event is undoubtedly the ‘Magneto,’ an all-electric Rubicon featuring four battery packs, a six-speed manual transmission, and an electric motor good for 285hp and 273lb-ft of torque. But when it comes to the rest of the concepts, you’ll find they’re also packed full of promise, such as the open-air ‘Wrangler Orange Peelz,’ the crawler-capable ‘Gladiator Rubicon Red Bare,’ and the ‘1968 Jeepster Commando Beach.’ While the former are both largely intended to showcase upcoming Mopar parts offerings, the latter is a gorgeous C101 restomod hiding a custom 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and riding on a set of beefy 35-inch tires.
