Hennessey Performance is no stranger to the world of high-octane automotive builds. Throughout its tenure, the brand has taken on almost every performance-focused platform in the genre. However, only one manufacturer seems to have tailored its offerings to Hennessey’s aftermarket regime: Dodge.
Time and time again, we’ve seen the Texas-based tuner take on the company’s SRT Hellcat models. Now, The 2021 Durango is its most recent victim. The sporty SUV adopts Hennessey’s custom-built HPE1000 upgrade kit, boosting it to an unprecedented 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft torque, and allowing the heavyweight wonder to hit its 60 mile-per-hour benchmark in just 2.8 seconds. This is all thanks to the SRT Hellcat’s newly-introduced 2.65L Supercharger System, throttle body/pulley upgrades, and a set of stainless steel, long-tube headers. Aside from Hennessey’s well-endowed 6.2-liter V8 Hemi powerplant, the shadowy specimen has been treated to a series of small aesthetic upgrades, including HPE1000 badges and serial-numbered plaques demarcating each model as one of 50 limited-edition offerings.
