While Minis have always been fun little cars, performance-minded they are not. But that’s about to change thanks to bespoke British carmaker David Brown Automotive and classic car tuner Oselli, who have teamed up to create the performance-minded Mini Remastered Oselli Edition.
The David Brown Automotive Mini Remastered Oselli Edition takes the base Mini Remastered from DBA’s current roster and loads it up with a number of performance upgrades. Like all of DBA’s cars, the Mini is being handbuilt in the company’s workshop in Silverstone, England, while its drivetrain was co-developed with Oselli and is the most powerful ever seen in a Mini Remastered, courtesy of a 1,450cc engine with twin SU carburetors mated to a five-speed gearbox. To handle the extra power, the Oselli Edition Mini has upgraded brakes and suspension systems, along with larger and wider 13-inch wheels that are paired with high-speed tires. As the cars are custom-built, other race-ready options are available, including a half-roll cage, multi-point harness seatbelts, and a limited-slip differential. Just 60 examples of the DBA Mini Remastered Oselli Edition are going to be built, with the first commissions set to roll out of the factory at the end of the month.
